Maternity Reflexology

I have studied and qualified in pre-conception and maternity reflexology with a diploma from the London School of Reflexology. Treatments can be given to women who are more than 12 weeks pregnant.

Research suggests that regular reflexology sessions throughout pregnancy may help to shorten labours as well as relaxing and balancing the body before giving birth. It can be very successful in the treatment of a wide variety of pregnancy discomforts and conditions including backache and constipation.

Other benefits include:

  • Relief from common pregnancy ailments such as morning sickness, back ache, fluid retention and swelling
  • Adjusting to the demands of coping with a new baby
  • Support as your menstrual cycle returns to normal

And not forgetting dad, it is common for both expectant parents to have reflexology during pregnancy to help couples during the emotional changes of pregnancy and birth. As well as this, much research has shown that reflexology is excellent for maintaining or increasing milk supply as well as helping with postnatal depression and general relaxation.

Reflexology and Fertility

Reflexion of the Soul believes in a holistic, natural approach to fertility preparation. The aim is to balance and harmonise mind, body and spirit through the benefits of reflexology. It is very important to understand that reflexology is not a medical treatment, or indeed a substitute for the medical treatment of infertility. I do not diagnose or treat specific conditions and cannot guarantee that the end result will be pregnancy. However, Fertility reflexology may assist by directing the flow of vital energy to where it is needed by balancing and restoring health and reducing the impact of stress. I treat the whole person and not the specific conditions.

Whatever the symptoms, it is essential to consult your GP/Consultant so that all tests can be carried out for both partners, and a diagnosis made regarding the cause of fertility problems. Pregnancy reflexology techniques can have amazing results and have helped many women ovulate, regain regular periods, ease menopausal symptoms, help with PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids and early menopause and achieve a viable pregnancy.

“Regular reflexology sessions throughout my pregnancy helped to ease symptoms of constipation and backache as well as give me some much needed relaxation time as I worked right up to a week before my due date. I had one inducing session with Imogen at 38 weeks and had a 5 hour labour 24 hours later and post partum treatments to aid my hormonal balance after givng birth – would thoroughly recommend.”
